Retreats and running
Mindful Runner, an endurance and trail-running coaching business, holds its training camps at Windrush. Hogsback's forest trails are where the running happens, and the cottages are where the day ends.

What we offer
Weekend training camps
About once a quarter, Mindful Runner runs a weekend training camp here at Windrush and on the trails around Hogsback, with Fred coaching. Windrush sits at about 1 450 m, so every run here is a run at altitude.
Race weekends
Stay at Windrush for the Hobbit Trail Runs, held in Hogsback each year in late April, with your hosts on site before and after race day.
Guided trail runs
Run Hogsback's forest paths with Fred, or ask for a route to run on your own.
Mindful and recovery weekends
A slower weekend for runners and non-runners: easy movement, rest and time among the trees.
Dates and prices
Retreat dates: ask us what is coming up.
Prices: ask us for details.
Want your own club or squad weekend? The whole of Windrush sleeps 13 comfortably, up to 15.
The Hobbit Trail Runs
Held in Hogsback in late April each year, with distances from 5 km up to a 90 km run on the Amathole Hiking Trail. There is something for a first race and something for a long day in the mountains.
Ask us about staying for race weekend.
Not a runner? You are welcome
Windrush is a place to stay first. If your partner runs and you would rather walk, read or sit in the garden, nobody will ask you to lace up. Hogsback has waterfalls, forest walks, cafés and galleries to fill a day.
You can also book a cottage for an ordinary holiday without joining anything.
